The Wilmington – Cape Fear Home Builders Association offers spring and fall internships for students who are majoring in the field of communications. The Association is a 1,100 member-firm trade association that provides services to its more than 9,500 individual and serves as the voice of the building and development industries in New Hanover, Pender and Bladen Counties. As a non-profit organization, the Association offers a variety of opportunities for experience in member services, event planning, marketing and public relations.

| Must be a junior or senior communications, public relations or marketing major |
| Must provide at least 3 writing samples (published samples preferred) |
| Must submit a cover letter and resume (spelling and grammar will be scrutinized) |
| Must be able to devote 15 to 20 hours a week |
| Must be self-motivated and well organized |
| Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills |
Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement

Assist Director of Marketing and Communications with:

Writing press releases and other publicity materials

Contribute to the monthly Tool Box newsletter and weekly e-blasts

Assist with maintaining advertising trade agreements and placing ads

Oversee the printing of collateral materials

Coordinating continuing education courses
