The Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association is the Voice of the Building and Development Industries in Southeastern North Carolina. Comprising nearly 9,500 members and 1,000 member-firms, the Association represents an industry that contributes approximately $2.8 billion to the economy of Southeastern North Carolina and supports more than 28,000 jobs in the greater Wilmington area.

We welcome your interest in joining the WCFHBA. Membership is open to all companies and individuals involved in the housing industry, from remodelers to manufacturers and service providers to custom builders. Why Should You Join?


Marketing and Advertising Want to increase your business’ visibility and credibility? Opportunities abound to sponsor a major event, including the Parade of Homes™ and HomeEXPO or general membership meeting. In addition, you can advertise in the Association’s monthly newsletter, annual directory and on the web site.     A web site dedicated solely to new home sales. The site allows prospective buyers and agents to search for new homes in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties. Members advertising on the site get a reduced rate and can list unlimited houses and communities.
New Health Insurance Plan for Members WCFHBA has partnered with a national provider to offer a limited-benefit health insurance plan for members -- a new affordable health insurance option for your employees and their families. FlexMED allows you to control the rate by choosing the desired benefits from three WCFHBA plans. Three-in-One Membership 
By joining the Association, you automatically become a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA). The National Association of Home Builders, a federation of more than 235,000 builders, remodelers and industry associates, strives to enhance the climate of the housing and building industry through public policy analysis, industry-wide media relations, and representing the industry’s issues on Capitol Hill. The North Carolina Home Builders Association is a dynamic group of builders and associate member-firms across the state who pool information and efforts to provide the collective clout and muscle the home building industry needs.

Governmental Affairs As a member of the Wilmington Cape Fear Home Builders Association your legislative and regulatory interests are well represented by the associations partnership with BASE (Business Alliance for a Sound Economy), the North Carolina Homebuilders Association (NCHBA) and the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB). The Association’s Governmental Affairs staff works closely with federal, state and local elected officials on issues that affect the home building and development industries.  As an umbrella organization, BASE provides governmental affairs services to the Brunswick County Home Builders Association, the Topsail Island Association of REALTORS®, the Brunswick County Landowners Association, the Pitt County Economic Development Partnership, and over 75 private sector member represented consulting firms.  By representing you at the local, state and national levels, BASE and its extensive network with NCHBA, and NAHB keeps you in business!  Click here to access BASE.

Meetings/Networking The Association hosts many events allowing members to meet and do business with other members in both formal and casual atmospheres, including the Parade of Homes™, HomeEXPO, monthly general membership meetings, educational courses, golf tournaments and council meetings. The “Do Business with a Member” program encourages business relationships between builders and associates for the mutual benefit of both their companies and the industry.

Education From regular classes and seminars to keynote speakers and nationally-recognized certification programs, the Association keeps members up-to-date on issues and developments crucial to their success in the industry. Participation in these member-only educational opportunities enables you to stay ahead of your non-member competitors.

Build PAC Build PAC represents members uniting to support the best-qualified, pro-housing candidates running for local office. Build PAC is completely independent and bipartisan, and candidates are chosen on their merits alone, giving the Association political clout in the election process.
