WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association(WCFHBA) and local builder members were recognized in Charlotte last week.  Builder companies Stevens Fine Homes, Fasse bldgs., RMB Building & Design and Riptide Builders LLC received awards in multiple categories.  The Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association also took home awards, including individual recognition for Executive Officer, Cameron Moore, as New Executive Officer of the Year.

2015 STARS Awards TrophiesThe statewide STARS Awards competition, representing the best in North Carolina’s new home construction, design and sales and marketing efforts, recognizes superior achievements in a broad range of categories. The Awards are presented by the North Carolina Home Builders Association, and symbolize tremendous achievement, honor and distinction among industry professionals.  Award categories honor outstanding achievements by builders, developers, sales and marketing professionals, interior merchandisers, web designers and local home builder associations. The STARS Awards attract top talent from across the state, with winners announced at a ceremony held on September 16 at the Charlotte Convention Center as part of the 21st Century Building Expo & Conference.

WCFHBA Builder Members were honored in a broad range of categories:  Stevens Fine Homes was awarded Best Logo Design for a Community and Best Radio Commercial.  RMB Building & Design took home the award for Best Single Family Energy Efficient Home, with a HERS score of 43 on a custom built home in excess of 7,000 sq ft.  Riptide Builders was awarded Best Builder Website.  Fasse bldgs.. received Best Logo Design for a Builder/Developer and Best Attached Home Plan from $250K to $500K for The Forktail Residence.

The Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association also took home awards for two of their annual events.  Best HBA Communication & PR Effort was awarded to WCFHBA for The 2015 MAX! Awards Promotional Video.  The video was created entirely by WCFHBA volunteers to help promote the 2015 MAX! Awards, which honor Marketing Achievements of Excellence.  The MAX! Awards were held in March at the Wendell Daniels Ballroom in CFCC’s Union Station.

The Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association’s (WCFHBA) 2015 Parade of Homes Plan Book and Marketing Campaign also received statewide recognition for Best Parade of Homes Communication at the 2015 STARS Awards.  The award was based on the Parade of Homes Plan Book, Supplemental Publications such as the 2015 Parade Map and 2015 Newspaper Tabloid, and Events, including a 400 person awards banquet held at The Wilmington Hilton Riverside.  The 2015 Parade of Homes was held in on two weekends in late April, the 2016 Parade of Homes will take place April 23 & 24 and April 30 & May 1.

WCFHBA Executive Officer, Cameron Moore, was recognized as New Executive Officer of the Year.  The award honors distinguished Executive Officers across the state who have served in their role for three years or less.  Mr. Moore started in January of 2014, and in just a year and a half, he has revitalized events, modernized operations and increased WCFHBA membership by roughly 25%.
