Builders can get $1,000 off a Parade of Homes Entry Fee

4
Feb

The final Parade of Homes entry deadline is coming up on February 28 with an entry fee of $1,595. But builders have the opportunity to save $1,000 on that entry fee by submitting a home in the energy efficiency category.

Duke Energy Progress is sponsoring the Energy Efficiency Category and they have generously offered an incentive* to the first four builders who submit a home in the energy efficiency category. The first and second builder to enter the category will each receive $1,000 off their Parade of Homes entry fee. The third and fourth builders to enter the category will each receive $500 off their Parade of Homes entry fee.

Best Energy Efficient Single-Family Project

Sponsored by Duke Energy Progress

Judging Criteria & Requirements:

Covers projects with a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) certification completed by February 28, 2014 and will be judged on the final HERS index score without solar PV included, as well as ACH50 and duct leakage values as confirmed by a certified HERS rater.

Entrants must submit the following with their Parade of Homes entry packet at time of entry:

1. An energy specification sheet in PDF form, to include the final certified HERS score (without PV), ACH50 value and duct leakage (tested at 25Pa).
2. PDF of the original HERS rating certificate or ENERGY STAR certificate.
3. The project’s REMRATE file (14.3).

*The incentive is per builder, not per home. One discount per builder. Limit four (4) builders. The incentive is not retroactive. Per contest rules, builders participating in this category must turn in all documentation with entry packet.
